Veterans/Armstice Day Ceremony

You are welcome to participate in a simple ceremony to honor our living Veteran survivors of war and the Armistice of the Great War.
The Great War of 1914-1918 ended on the 11 month, 11th day, 11th hour and minute on a rail car in France .
Armistice Day (France, New Zealand, and many other Commonwealth countries; and the original name of the day internationally)
and Remembrance Day (Australia, Canada, United Kingdom),
Armistice Day was later changed in the US to Veterans Day in 1954 is a day to commemorate the sacrifice of veterans and civilians in all wars since then.

Invocations will be given by the clergy and the fallen from Florida will be recited from the current conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan .
The memorial ceremony will be held from 11 to the noon hour, maybe longer, depending upon turnout at Joe Chillura Courthouse Square * at the marble gazebo at the nothwest corner overlooking the stone memorial engraved with the names of the fallen of Hillsbourogh County in Iraq and Afghanistan. Speakers may include Veterans, elected officials, poets, singers to lead us in song and those with a message of peace for humanity. We will announce a place to meet afterward for a holiday social for members and participants.

Bring your own seating, either lawn/camping chairs or blankets. Check out the weather forecast before leaving and plan accordingly.
Persons who have trouble walking more than 2 blocks should be dropped off at the corner of N. Pierce St. and E. Kennedy Blvd.
All peace lovers welcome, along with their children. Bring your family, bring your friends, bring your signs. No pets, please.
