Memorial Day Vigil
When: Monday, May 29, 7PM-9PM
Where: Corner of Bayshore and Bay to Bay Avenues, Tampa (Map)
EVENT WRAPUP
This Vigil will include an open air solemn silent observance in honor of those who gave their lives to defend our nation and to strive for peace.
We kindly ask that you dress in black or wear a black arm band, bring your own matches/lighter, and a candle.
We'll begin by forming to offer a blessing and to read the names of the 107 Floridians who have been killed in action, and to sing a song to memorialize their passing.
Daylight permitting, we'll also show signs and banners to passing traffic from MacDill AFB. Feel free to bring your own event approprite sign. Some will be provided. During this period, a smile and a wave of the hand are the best reaction to passers by.
Once darkness is falling on us on the sideway alongside beautiful Hillsbourgh Bay, we will space ourselves out for best visual effect, light our candles, and observe silence. Please plan on respecting this silence for at least 15 minutes for optimum effect before as many passing cars as possible.
This is not only an awsome visual for passers by, but many participants find it to be a powerful spiritual experience, personally.
Please exercise caution when crossing these busy streets to the opposite sidewalk, when walking along the seawall, and when going back to your vehicle.

Giant Car/Truck/Caravan Past MacDill A.F. Base - After the Rally
Giant, Car and Truck Caravan for the purpose of demanding that our government end the occupation of Iraq, bring the troops home and avoid an attack on Iran.
Event starts at the intersection of Gandy Blvd and Dale Mabry in Tampa, FL
Sunday, March 19, 2006 at 3pm. This event starts at the conclusion of an earlier event at Chillura Park, Tampa
The caravan will proceed down Dale Mabry to a turn around before the MacDill main gate. Vehicles will then proceed to destinations of their own choosing.
This event is endorsed by Veterans for Peace, TampaBay and others who oppose the occupation of Iraq
and demand the end of the military occupation of Iraq. We are opposed the unnecessary deaths and wounding of American Military and Iraqi civilians.
Three years have passed since our President, using false and unreliable information, ordered our armed forces to begin a pre-emptive war against Iraq. This caravan will include those who are opposed to our continuing, deadly occupation of that sovereign nation. The people who participate will be expressing their objection to the killing, torture and economic devastation of the people of Iraq and the unnecessary deaths and injuries suffered by our loyal military personnel.
Our event, a peaceful, democratic, non-violent expression of our rightful demands to our Government for the withdrawal of all our troops from Iraq, will be a lawful xpression of our freedom of speech. Other
demonstrations including acts of civil disobedience are not authorized by Veterans for Peace, Tampa Bay.
Drive Carefully, obey all taffic regulations, seat belt fastened, headlights on, follow directions of Police Officers if they are present. No Horn Sounding Please! ! ! We are not celebrating anything, we mourn
the Deaths and Wounding of tens of thousands of Iraqi's and the needless deaths of 2600+ and the 18,000 of our
wounded.
